How to Pitch Brands as a UGC Creator (Without Sounding Desperate)
Brand managers get dozens of creator pitches a week. Most get deleted in under ten seconds. Here's the structure that gets yours opened, read, and replied to.
1. Lead With Them, Not You
The most common mistake in UGC pitching is opening with your own bio: "Hi, I'm a creator with 12k followers, I love your brand…" The brand manager doesn't care yet. Open with something specific about them — a product launch you noticed, a campaign angle you liked, a gap in their content you can fill. One genuine sentence beats three paragraphs of introduction.
2. One Idea, Not a Menu
Don't send a list of everything you could possibly make. Pitch one concrete concept: "A 30-second 'get ready with me' style video showing your serum in a real morning routine — here's a similar video I made." Specificity makes it easy to say yes. Menus make it easy to say "we'll think about it" (they won't).
3. Your Link Does the Heavy Lifting
Here's where most pitches fall apart. The brand manager is interested — and then you send them a Google Drive folder, a Canva link that needs permission, or three separate Instagram DMs. Friction kills deals. What you want is one link that opens a polished page with your best work, your stats, your rates, and a way to contact you. No logins, no downloads, no digging. See what that looks like in our live demo.
A pitch gets you the click. Your link closes the deal.
4. End With a Low-Friction Next Step
Don't ask for a 30-minute call in a cold email. Ask something easy: "Want me to send over two more concept options?" or "Happy to make a 15-second sample with your product — want one?" Make replying feel effortless.
5. Follow Up Once, Politely
One follow-up, five to seven days later, referencing your original idea. That's it. More than that and you're noise. Roughly a third of brand deals come from the follow-up, so don't skip it — but don't chase.
The Bottom Line
Pitching is a numbers game, but it's a weighted numbers game. Ten thoughtful pitches with a professional link behind them will outperform a hundred copy-paste DMs every time. Your work deserves better than a scattered profile and a Drive folder.
